Jackie “Jack” Edward Vermillion, 73, went to be with the Lord on Friday (July 3, 2015) after an extended illness. He was of the Baptist faith, and attended Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Jack enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He enjoyed NASCAR racing (Jeff Gordon). Jack loved his wife and family.
He was preceded in in death by his parents, Harry Lee Vermillion, Sr & Amanda Jane; brothers, Harry Lee Vermillion, Jr., & Benny Richard Vermillion, Sr.; sister, Gale Vermillion Howard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 49 years, Sue Rowland Vermillion; son, Dustin Elin Necessary; brother, Joseph Gene Vermillion, Sr. & wife Carolyn; four sisters, Ann Davidson, Judy Porter & husband George, Joyce Berry & husband Larry, and Jennifer Quillin & husband Dwight; two sister-in-laws, Adele and Charlotte Vermillion; aunt, Annis Ruth Gamble; uncle, Darvin Ralph Gamble; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday (July 6, 2015) at Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church (449 Church Rd. Fall Branch) from noon until 2 pm. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Tim Jarrett officiating. Special music by New Song trio. Burial will follow in the Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
