Annie Mae Fletcher

July 15, 1924 - October 24, 2016

Annie Mae Fletcher, 92, of Yuma, VA, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 with her family by her side, after a lengthy illness. Annie was a native of Scott County all of her life. She worked at F.W. Woolworths and Oakwood in her earlier years, later becoming a homemaker. She was a faithful member of Cowans Branch Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Connie May Blessing Fletcher; brother, Elmer Fletcher; sister, Ruby McClellan; nephew, Ronnie McClellan; great-nephew, Shannon McClellan; and great-great nephew, James Hall.

Her survivors include her nephew, David McClellan (Weber City, VA); great niece, Gwenda “Red” Hall (Gate City, VA); great-great nephew, Lucas (Rye Cove, VA); and several cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM at Cowans Branch Missionary Baptist Church (433 Cowan Gap Tunnel Road, Gate City,VA). The funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Graveside service will be at 11 AM at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA on Friday, October 28, 2016. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rodney Taylor, Will Blessing, Bruce Blessing, Noah Blessing, C.J. Blessing and Greg Lucas. Family and friends are invited to return to the church after the graveside for a meal.

The family would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped out and been with Annie. Also, a special thank you to her favorite nurses and the hospice staff.
