Sandra Kay Bays, 64, joined the Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at home after a lengthy illness of cancer. She fought a courageous and strong battle. She was a resident of Church Hill, TN where she loved working in her garden of flowers and being with her family.
Preceding her in death were her father, Grady Odell Bridges; her mother, Cora Mae Bridges; brother, Marvin Leon Bridges; and sisters, Brenda Lee Youngblood and Sheila Lorene Seigler.
Survivors include her son, Anthony Bays and wife, Penny (who was like a daughter); daughter, Alisha Turner and husband, Dwain (who was like a son); daughter, Betty Strong and husband, Nathan (who was like a son); 6 grandchildren, Krista Waters, Angel Strong, Jackie Bays, Isaiah Turner, Elijah Turner and Lacey Strong; one great granddaughter who is on the way, Arianna Kaye Waters; sisters, Lorene Wood and Annette Grover, both of SC; brothers, Robert Bridges and Donald Lee Bridges, both of SC; one special niece, Barbara Payton; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home, Kingsport, TN. Services will be conducted at 6:00 PM with Dwain Turner officiating.
The family would like to say a very special thanks to Betty Strong for all the love and care for all the years that she has given to Sandra, which is very much appreciated. The family also wishes to express a special thanks to Wellmont Hospice, especially Lora and Becky, Church Hill Pharmacy and all the family and friends at Glen View Apartments.
