Melissa “Missy” Lea Cox, 47, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
Missy lived in Kingsport her whole life. She was raised in a home filled with laughter and love. She loved her kids more than anything except her dog, Bailey. Missy loved life, you never saw her without a smile on her face. Friends would describe her as big hearted. In spite of all the laughter and smiles she battled kidney disease for most of her life. She was an inspiration to living life to the fullest no matter your challenges. She leaves behind a wonderful caring family who will miss her more than anything.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Emma and Earnest McDavid, Grant and Mary Jane Horton.
She is survived by her daughters, Lindsey Cox, Taylor Cox; parents, Danny and Nancy McDavid; brothers, Kim and wife Sandra McDavid, Jason and wife Ashley McDavid; special nieces, Emily, and Emma McDavid.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday March 28th from noon to 2pm at Trinity Memorial. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Chad Roberts officiating. Graveside service will follow the funeral at Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery(987 Ryan Rd, Fall Branch, TN 37656). Pallbearers will be family and friends.
