Ernest Harold (Pop) Lucas, age 78, of Bristol Tennessee, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Christian Care Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Nickelsville, Virginia he was the son of the late Victor E. Lucas and Leta Breeden Lucas.
He was a graduate of Nickelsville High School and he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a former long time employee of Mason Dixon truck lines and worked for the United States Postal Service. Pop enjoyed farming and most of all working with his horses and cattle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Malinda H. Lucas; sons, David Hunsucker and wife Alice, Mark Lucas and wife Joy, Brian Lucas and wife Scarlet; six grandchildren, Lucas, Jeffrey, Lindsey, Blake, Camille, Daphne; four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Shane, Mattie, Mason; sister-in-law, Sandra Monger and husband Mike.
The family would like to thank all of his doctors, nurses, and friends at Mt. Home VA Medical Center, Bristol Regional Medical Center, and Christian Care Center of Bristol.
The family of Ernest Harold (Pop) Lucas will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN. 37660,
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to the charity of your choice.
