William “Bill” Murray Cox, 59, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 11th, 2019. Bill was born in Kingsport in 1960 where he resided his whole life. He was a graduate of Daniel Boone High School. After graduating his sister, Marsha, helped him get a job at Eastman. He worked there for a long period of time. Bill also was a Volunteer Fireman and also worked with the Rescue Squad. He was a devoted member of his church, Higher Ground Baptist Church, where he loved his church family and was very active. Some of the ministries he helped with were the Wood Ministry, Delivering Meals, and Church Dramas (Easter, Judgment Day, Christmas, etc.) Bills hobbies included Nascar Racing where he often attended the family night races, UT Football and tried to never miss a game, and he loved to work on crafts. If you ever wanted to know the weather, Just Call Bill. He was a kind, generous soul who loved his Savior and showed the same love to those around him in his life. He lived a respectable and honorable life with other peoples interest above his own. He cared for many that had been lost along lifes path. He will be greatly missed is an understatement, he will be loved by those here forever. He is preceded in death by parents, Chester Anderson Cox and Mattie Frances Murray Cox; maternal grandparents, Charles R. Murray and Ida Jane Bacon Murray; paternal grandparents, William Jennings Bryan Cox and Lula Belle Slaughter Cox. Bill is survived by his daughters, Brooke Cox and Rebecca Cox; sister, Marsha Cox; nieces, Rachel Rogers and Erin Loesch; three great nieces and two great nephews, special friend of 13 years, Sandra Conley; aunt, Margie Cox Price of Maryville; Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday July 14th from Noon until 2:00 pm at Trinity Memorial. Service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Dr. Ronnie Owens officiating and special music consisting of members from Higher Grounds Choir. Graveside service will follow at Eastern Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends. In lieu of flowers and most fitting for Bills love to help others, please make donations in his honor to Higher Ground Baptist Church.
