William Edward Perkins

March 16, 1958 — September 8, 2023

Edward was born to Ray and Edna Perkins on March 16th, 1958, and departed this earthly life on September 8th, 2023.
He received Christ at an early age under the leadership of his cousins Howard and Louise Keith, and later re-dedicated himself to the Lord. Recently, you could often find him watching services of preachers on television. He was preceded to heaven by his parents, and great niece, Nevaeh Slaughter, who we know will all welcome him with open arms.
Edward was the youngest of the four Perkins children and only son. He was adored and doted on by his sisters and mother. He had a huge love of music, which he inherited from his father. He would spend hours listening to both the gospel songs that his father sang as well as the rock bands of the 60's and 70's. Edward loved sports and was a life long fan of the Washington Redskins. He loved to fish and was happiest on a bank or boat, in the sunshine, reel in hand.
He loved his dogs and gave wonderful lives to them all. His favorites being Kane, Charlie, and Nemo.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister Regina Payne and her husband John, with whom Edward has lived and been loved by for the last 24 years, nephew Jason St. John with whom he held a close friendship, niece Crystal Payne and great nephew Jayden Crawford, niece Chelsea, her husband Jonathan Fauver and great nephew Ian, sister Donna Propst, nephew Stuart Propst and great nephew Isiah Blaylock, great nieces Kira, Tessa and McKinley, sister Beverly Perkins, niece Tanya Hicks, several very close cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Edward was loved, and though we know he's at peace now, in a far better place, he will be remembered and missed by those of us left behind.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Wells Chapel, Wells Chapel Lane and Long Hollow Road (VA - 774), Nickelsville, VA.
This obituary is lovingly written by Edward's niece, Chelsea. Trinity Memorial Centers (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the Perkins family.
