William Douglas Ray Crowder, 76, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019. Psalm 30:5 "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Doug was born in Dante, VA and was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He was a graduate of Ketron High School and an avid sports fan. Doug was a very intelligent and colorful person who had many passions. He was most passionate in his faith and love for Christ, and was a minister at several churches over his lifetime. He enjoyed studying the bible, preached at many local revivals, funerals, and weddings. Doug was very charismatic and one could feel God's power in his words. Doug loved music and loved to laugh. He was a successful businessman and entrepreneur who had many clients in the area. He was well loved by the community and his customer service was considered excellent. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Hazel Jessee. Doug is survived by his son, Stephen Crowder; daughter, Amy Cradic and husband Robert; grandchildren, Brittany, Alexis, Chandler, and Max; brother, Ed Crowder and wife Sherry; sisters, Iris and husband Harold Deskins, Annette Crowder; and several nieces and nephews; step-sons, Robby, Adam, and Matthew. Family will receive friends on Saturday January 12th from noon till 2pm at Trinity Memorial Centers. Funeral service will follow at 2pm in the chapel.
