William “Bill” Vince Bray

William Vince Bray, “Bill”, age 65, formerly of Elizabethton, TN passed away Wednesday, January, 9, 2019. He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennet High School and received his BS from Tennessee Tech, Cookeville in 1975. Bill was a star athlete in both high school and college and took pride in his love of sports which he used to coach his own sons from young ages. He was a beloved husband; father, grandfather, and friend who loved to learn and try new things yet found delight in lifes most simple pleasures. He enjoyed history and genealogy and participated in historical reenactments and was an avid outdoorsman. Bill is preceded in death by his parents James and Margaret Jessee Bray, and his father in law Charles Virgil Scott. He is survived by his wife of over 35 years, Sheila and his three sons: Jordan Bray and his wife, Marah of Roanoke, VA. Ernie Bray and his wife Traci; 6 step grandsons, Gibson, Ethan, Rylan, Kayson, Colton, Masen, and 1 grand-daughter Arissa of Jonesborough, TN. Son David Bray. His brother Jim Bray and wife Nancy of Kingsport, TN his brother in law Mike Scott, and wife Brenda of Gallatin, TN. his mother in law Nellie Ellison Scott of Watauga, TN numerous nieces, nephews and friends. His son, Jordan, is hosting a memorial service for his father to be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 17th, 2019 at Trinitys Downtown Life Celebration Center (Model City Event Center, 201 E Center Street, Kingsport, TN). Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service.
