Wendell Scott Harless

Wendell Scott Harless, 61, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.
Born in Kingsport, to Leonard and Barbara Harless, Wendell grew up and spent his life in northeast Tennessee. He was a member of the last graduating class of Sullivan West High School. Wendell raised his beloved daughter, Kristy. He worked as a machinist at a variety of local machine shops. He was an avid sports fan, especially Nascar. He also enjoyed working on his own cars, and he enjoyed coon hunting.
Wendell is preceded in death by both of his parents, Leonard and Barbara Harless.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristy Harless; her mother, Sharon Harless; brother, Charlie (Val) Harless; uncle, Tracy Cox; aunt, Phyllis Cox; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
Wendell's family would like to extend their gratefulness and appreciation to Shelley and Mike and the rest of the staff in the intensive care unit at Johnson City Medical Center.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life, with dates and times to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the Harless family requests that donations in Wendell's name be made to Shriner's Childrens Hospital or American Cancer Society.
