Wayne Anthony Smith

"Tony" Wayne A. Smith, 58, of Blountville, TN, on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023, stepped into eternity hand in hand with Jesus with zero regrets after a long brave battle. He didn't want a funeral; not only is it a waste of money in his opinion, but in fact, if he could've bartered towards afterlife expenses, he would have been satisfied.


Tony's adventurous spirit carried him through life full throttle as a hard-working man, the best dad ever, he never met a stranger, and a buddy to all. After graduating from Sullivan Central in 1983, "Toad" and his high-school sweetheart "PJ" started life's journey quickly growing up, learning hard lessons together, yet are blessed beyond measure with the most fun-loving free-spirited family. He taught us all about dirt bikes, four-wheeling, playing in the mud, boating, wakeboarding & surfing, snowboarding, lawn mower racing, and popping wheelies. He could fix or ride anything and was an avid wheeler/dealer.

Tony may have been a butcher by trade and a manager as a career, but he was a natural mentor to everyone he encounter. His legacy is profound and a goal for all of us left behind.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Smith; step-father, Wayne Whited.

Survived by his soul mate Pennie; son, Ethan aka "Jim dawg or Bill"; daughter, Nikki Smith-Minor and husband Derrick; mother, Dona Kay Whited; brother, Danny Smith and wife Ronda; sister-in-love, Teresa Hutchens; niece, Candice; nephews, Logan, Christian, Andrew, Paul, Nathaniel. Too many special buddies to mention...you know if you know.


A total sendoff Celebration of Life will be held on July 23rd, 2023, at Trinity Memorial Funeral Home (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN) from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Casual attire is requested.
