Vic Shayne Vicars

Vic Shayne Vicars, beloved son and brother, went to his eternal home with the Lord on Sunday December 22, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with brain cancer at the age of 62. Vic was both born and resided in Kingsport, TN.

He was an active member of his community, willing to lend a hand or share a meal with his neighbors. He was a successful gardener, sharing his crop with loved ones and some small local businesses. Vic stayed fit by riding his bike and calling games for the Kpt. Park & Rec Dept. He was passionate about showing up for the kids and devoted to keeping their games a fun and positive experience for them. He was a pro disc golf player, attending two World Tournaments. He organized countless tournaments at Warriors Path State Park encouraging the growth of the sport in the area.

Vic is survived by his father, Otis; brother Joey, sister Christy (Jay), and niece Bailey. He is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the DePew Family Event Barn, 543 Harr Town Rd, Blountville, TN. The family will have a private gathering for refreshments and hors d' oeuvres from 11-12:30. Friends will be received from 1pm until 3pm. This is a private property, is furnished with indoor plumbing and a finished floor.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local food pantries. Vic never hesitated to share a plate of food with others. "Truly I tell you whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Mt. 25:40.
