Tracie R. Reed, age 46, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Tracie faced numerous challenges in life, but her strength and heart always shone through. From a young age, she was no stranger to adversity, yet she was determined to find ways to help others. Even when she had little to give, Tracie was known for her selfless acts of kindness, often feeding those in need and offering a listening ear to anyone who needed it. Her compassion for others knew no bounds especially to those who she didn't know personally but knew needed help.
Though she faced struggles, including her ongoing battle with addiction, Tracie's efforts to overcome it were a testament to her determination and love for her family. Through it all, she remained steadfast in her belief in the power of forgiveness, often reminding those around her that no one is beyond redemption, and that kindness and understanding could heal even the deepest wounds.
Tracie was preceded in death by her mother, Kimberly White; father, Johnny Gill; son, Trevor Sexton; Special Friend, Hoopie; and mother-in-law, Mary Sexton. She is survived by her three sons, Jonathan and Jaylyn Sullivan, Corey Sexton, Thomas Sexton; husband, Tim Crawford; grandson, Jeremiah; sister, Heather Delp; her beloved Aunt Joy; and several other loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends who were a constant source of support.
Tracie's love for her family was evident. When she could, she enjoyed making Thanksgiving meals, attending her children's sports games, and spending time with her loved ones. Some of her most cherished memories include watching WWE wrestling with her children and even buying them a WWE ring bed when they were young. (Also doing donuts with her Honda in the backyard but that's supposed to be a secret between us and her.)
Tracie was a passionate advocate for mental health and suicide awareness, always offering a helping hand to anyone in need of support. She often spoke about her faith in Jesus and her belief in doing good deeds, especially through simple acts of kindness, like setting up Christmas lights and a tree in memory of her late son Trevor.
Those who knew Tracie will remember her most for her bright smile, laughter, her warm heart, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome no matter their story. She was a firm believer in the power of forgiveness, and her legacy is one of love, compassion, adversity, hardship, and understanding.
In her memory, Tracie will always be remembered fondly-whether it was sharing a Taco Bell fry with nacho cheese, offering a word of encouragement, or simply being there for someone in their darkest moments.
