Tondeleyo Fluke

Tondeleyo (Matney) Fluke, a beloved resident of Bristol, TN, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the age of 80.

She was a cherished member of her community, known for her loving, caring, and patient nature. Tonda was a proud Grundy native and an alumna of the local high school, where she excelled as a majorette in the band.

Tonda demonstrated her devout Christian faith through being a mentor and organizing of women's events, Sunday School teacher, and hosting new church members and visitors in her home. Tonda found joy in watching her children grow and thrive, and she embraced her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver and friend with unwavering devotion.

As the matriarch of her family, Tonda possessed a remarkable ability to keep everyone in line while nurturing a deep love for family gatherings and entertaining guests. She had a passion for decorating, bringing warmth and beauty to every space she touched.

Tonda is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Tom Fluke; her son, Brad Fluke, and his wife Kathy; her daughter, Traci Hale, and her husband Donald; as well as several adoring grandchildren.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Tondeleyo's life will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at the State Street Church of Christ, located at 1713 West State Street, Bristol, VA 24202. Visitation will take place from 6-7 p.m., followed by a service.
