Tommy Ray Williams, age 70, of Pennington Gap, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 after an extended illness. He was born in Lee County and had lived many years in Rockville, Maryland before coming back to his home town. Tommy loved to play music, fishing, but most of all, his love for his family was unmatched. He was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Williams (2016); and parents, Buster and Mary Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Williams (Kingsport, TN); grandchildren, Brett Bledsoe and wife, Ashley, Michael Higgins, Dillon Higgins, Rachel Higgins, Jimmy Lee Mullins and Jenna Drinnen; five great grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy Williams and wife, Linda (Jonesville, VA) and Jack Williams (Michigan); sister, Brenda Williams and husband, Junior (Rocky Mount, NC) ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life will be conducted on Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Pennington Gap, VA. Another celebration of life will be held in Maryland at a later date.
