Thomas Mccracken

Thomas McCracken, born on April 22, 1937, age 77, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at his home. He was born in St. Charles, VA and lived in Pennington Gap, VA before moving to Kingsport, TN. He was of the Assembly of God faith and served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from General Dynamics in Warren, Michigan where he served as a welder from 1979-1993, building army tanks. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary "Maggie" McCracken and daughter, Teresa Annie McCracken. Tom was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters, all born in Lee County, VA. His surviving siblings are Stella Roberts, Ruby Roberts and Bill McCracken. He is survived by his wife, Sharon McCracken, of the home; five children, Thomas E. McCracken, Jr. of Michigan, April Lynn McCracken Fanning of Michigan, Judyann Christian Thompson and husband Aaron of Kentucky, David Christopher McCracken of Tennessee and Rosa Marie McCracken of Tennessee; grandchildren, Korisha Nicole Deitman and husband Nick, Matthew Thomas McCracken, Rachael Elizabeth McCracken, Brittany Nicole Fanning, Joseph Howard Fanning III, Anthony Paul Fanning; great-grandchildren, Kierstin Rose Walsh, Wyatt Dominick Deitman, Emmabelle Ellen McJennette and Meilynn Grace McJennette, all of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Trinity Memorial Centers (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN). Services will be conducted following visitation in the chapel.
