Theresa Sue Ford

Theresa Sue Ford, 70, of Gate City, VA, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023.
Teri Sue, also known as Susie, lived in the Tri-cities area for over thirty years after moving from Ohio. She was married to Allen Dean Ford for twenty-three years, and the couple had one daughter, Crystal Mary Ford. Teri Sue was a bird whisperer. She cared for all of God's creations with a specific heart for the birds. She considered it giving praise to God every time she fed them. She was a woman with a very strong spirit and a tremendous joy for life to the very end. She was a woman of grace, kindness, love, and beauty - a beautiful daughter of Christ and an extraordinary mother.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents, David McKay and Rita Foos; her brother, David McKay; husband, Allen Dean Ford; aunt, Laverl Foos; aunt, Ruth McKay; step-grandson, Chad Courtney; multiple grandparents and family members who helped to raise and care for Theresa throughout her life.
Those left to cherish Theresa's memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Mary Ford (Matthew) Bingle; step-grandsons, Justin Courtney, Carson Bingle, Heath Hoffman, Shane Hoffman, Derek Ford, Todd Ford, Cameron Ford, Chaz Williams, Hazard Williams; step-granddaughters, Elizabeth Spears, Shashonna Williams, Sharona Williams; step-son, Billie Ford; step-daughters, Sheba Vaughn; Mary Courtney, Teena Camper; cousins, Mark Polansky Sr., Mark Polansky Jr., and spouses and children; a multitude of friends and extended family knit together by love.
Theresa always wanted to start a horseback riding program for at-risk children where each child could have their own horse to care for and to ride. In honor of her memory, contributions may be made to Small Miracles Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center of Kingsport https://www.small-miracles.org/. In addition, because of her love for birds, contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society.
