Dr. Teresa Carter, 71, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023.
Dr. Teresa Carter was a lifelong learner as well as a dedicated educator. Her creative interests were boundless, from robotics to baking, crocheting to horticulture, she was never without a new project. She contributed to her community as a volunteer and mentor and was particularly passionate about insuring her students’ career and personal successes. Her love for her family was boundless, and through that love, she embodied the role of caregiver for many throughout her life. In so many arenas, she has left a legacy to be proud of.
She is preceded in death by; her sister, Chloe Ella; her parents, Robert and Margarite Goad; and her aunt Judith McCurry.
Teresa leaves behind; her husband, Timothy Carter; daughter, Amanda (husband Ben) Schreiber and granddaughter Charli; son, Dulaney (wife Sarah) Carter; her aunt, Janet Cox; and cousin, Cara (husband Trent) Perkins.
A graveside service will be held at Gunnings Cemetery in Blountville, Tennessee, on May 27th, 2023 at 11 am. Pastor Paul Becker will officiate.
The family asks that in leui of flowers, any monetary donations be made to Milligan College, or to Gunnings Cemetery c/o Tony Martin 414 Roxana Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664 as a tribute to Theresa’s memory.
