Susan Elaine Arnold

Susan Elaine Arnold, 66, of Kingsport, TN, entered into the arms of the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Born and raised in Kingsport, Elaine was a proud graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, Class of 1976. She continued her education at East Tennessee State University, earning her Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1980.

Elaine began her nursing career at Holston Valley Medical Center, where she met her husband, Jerry. In 1997, she joined CVA and built a distinguished 25-year career there. Her passion for healthcare led her to achieve a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, and she was promoted to Senior Director in 2015. Cardiac nursing was her specialty, and she dedicated her career to caring for others.

Outside of work, Elaine cherished family vacations at Disney and was known for her incredible creativity, which extended to her love for interior design and writing. She was even a published author.

A faithful and long-time member of Colonial Heights Christian Church, Elaine served on the worship team, sharing her love for singing and music with the congregation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Fine Easley and Mary Sue Easley (Allen); niece, Brittany Church; and her beloved cats, Sally Ann and Molly.

Elaine's memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband of 37 years, Jerry; her daughters, Adria Shannon (husband Donnie) and Anabella Arnold; her sister, Melanie Adkins (husband Chip); and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and her many adored cats.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport, TN, with Pastor David Mullins officiating. Anyone is welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to International Autoimmune Encephalitis Society or any local animal shelter affected by Hurricane Helene.
