Shirley Ann Smith

Shirley Ann Smith, 75, of Mount Carmel, TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

A fiery redhead with a heart as fierce as it was kind, Shirley was a devoted advocate for the people she loved. She was fiercely protective of her family, always ready to stand up for those dear to her heart. With an unmatched sense of humor and an infectious laugh, she could brighten any room. Shirley was a kid at heart-playful, full of life, and always ready to cut up and have fun. She never met a stranger and treated everyone with warmth and kindness. She adored her family, cherished her beloved cats, and lived a life filled with faith, love, and loyalty as a wife, mother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jerry Ray Smith; her grandson, Johnathan Lee Smith; her son-in-law, Ronald Leonard Long II; her brothers, Leonard "Buzz" Ricker and Bobby Joe Ricker; and her parents, Joseph and Nona Ricker.

Those left to cherish Shirley's memory are her children, Johnny Devoti and Tammy Long; her grandchildren, Kevin, Brittany, Vincent, Steven, Anna Bowlin, and Jerry Smith; her great-grandchildren, Isaiah Bowlin, Hayden Doss, Jeremiah, and Harley; her nephews, Scott Ricker, Anthony Ricker, Michael Ricker, Dillion Ricker, Steve Baines, and Austin Baines; her nieces, Sophie and Rebecca Ricker; and her sisters-in-law, Florence Ricker and Dorothy Ricker.

A special thank you is extended to Dawn Shelton, Johnny's fiancée, for her unwavering love, care, and support for Shirley.
