Shirley Jean Lane, 72, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2020. “Mamaw” Shirley Jean Lane filled her family with love and home cooked meals. She brought joy, peace, and comfort to all who knew her. Anyone who stopped by her house was sure to laugh and eat, regardless of the time of day. One of four ladies broadly known as the “grandma pack”, she enjoyed travel and experiencing new things with her twin and two younger sisters. Her days were often filled with grandchildren and great grandchildren, none of whom could do no wrong at “Mamaws”. A simple country woman, “Mamaw” Jean would give you the shirt off her back while also challenging you to be your best self. Heaven sings as loudly as her family weeps. “Mamaw” Jean was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by the man she was married to and her true love for 55 years, JImmy Lane; her sisters, Alice Dean Perry, Linda (Larry) Riner, and Nellie (Bill) Christian; her brothers-in-law, Don Lane, CJ (Bonnie) Lane, Wesley (Ruth) Lane; her daughters, Rhonda Kay (Brian) Klepper, and Donna (John) Moody; her grandchildren, Lauren Thompson, Jordan (Haley) Moody, Madisson (Logan) Hagood, and Josie Klepper; niece, Pam (Johnny) Gentry; great niece, Holly (Adam) Sampson; great nephew, Matt (Dee) Gentry; seven great grandchildren with another on the way; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
