Sherry Etta Johnson, 53, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Greystone Healthcare after an extended illness. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but has been in this area most of her life. Sherry attended Shades of Grace as her health permitted. She loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Charles Downs and Henrietta Downs; sister, Lisa Downs; son in law, Randy Burkand; and several aunts and uncles.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Jackie Johnson; daughters, Crystal Burk, Kimberly Fletcher and husband, Mickey, and Jackie Lee White and husband, Jason (all of Kingsport, TN); sons, Joshua Sanchez and wife, Anjulia (Kingsport, TN); brothers, Ricky Combs (Kingsport, TN) and Billy Downs (Jacksonville, FL); sixteen grandchildren, Tyler Downs, Summer Burk, Amber Burk, Cody Burk, Daniel Fletcher, Jordan Erdely, Joshua Sanchez, Jr., Brooklyn Sanchez, Mya Sanchez, Armani Sanchez, Matthew Langley, Shannon Johnson, Jayden Johnson, Millie Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Chloe Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial on Tuesday February 19th at 3PM with Pastor Will Shewey of Shades of Grace UMC officiating.
