Sammy Kaye Waldron

August 25, 1944 — June 21, 2019

Sammy Kaye Waldron, 74, of Bristol, VA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on August 25th, 1944 in Clinchco, Virginia and was a graduate of Ervinton High School (class of '63), where he met the love of his life. Sammy and his devoted wife Linda (Hill) married in 1965 and began their life together in Parkersburg, West Virginia. They eventually settled in Bristol, Virginia - their home for the last 42 years with their two daughters Tammy and Kimberly. "Big Sam" was a basketball - loving man who always lived life to the fullest. Sam spent his retired years as a devoted Papaw to his two grandchildren Samantha and Tyler. He and Linda lived an adventurous life, traveled often, and eventually visiting every one of the "Lower 48" states! Sam was a faithful husband, father, brother and Papaw. He lived by one statement- "The truth will stand when the world's on fire". He was a man of his word and a true friend to all who really knew him. He had a way of making the days brighter and he will definitely be missed. The family will hold a private celebration of life ceremony for Sam. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the Waldron family.
