Russell Eugene Dively

Russell Eugene Dively, 70, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on February 24th, 2024. He was born on August 10, 1953, in Cumberland, Maryland.
Russell, known for his kind and generous nature, lived a life filled with love for exploration, reading, and learning. He was a man who embraced life to the fullest.

Having served in the Navy for 20 years, Russell was a dedicated and disciplined individual, embodying the values of service and commitment.

In his civilian life, Russell pursued a career as a college professor and college administrative consultant, where he shared his knowledge and expertise with students and colleagues alike.

After retiring, Russell enjoyed collecting books, traveling, going to karaoke nights, and volunteering at The Salvation Army of Kingsport, TN, demonstrating his passion for life, learning, and giving back to the community.

Russell is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Gloria Dively; his son, Nathaniel Dively, and daughter-in-law, Candice Desiree' Mitchell; his sister, Jackie Dively; his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Perlita Kreidler; his nieces, France Lippold, Katarina Bishop, and Erika Kreidler; his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Cathy Morrison. He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Mae Dickerhoof.

Russell Eugene Dively will be deeply missed by all who knew him, as his legacy of kindness, encouragement, and love for life lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
