Ruby Joyce Ashbrook

Ruby Hutchins Ashbrook, 57, lost her brave battle with cancer on Friday (September 5, 2014). She loved karaoke, thrift store shopping, gardening, and spending time with family. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orge Hutchins and Mary E. Carter; brother, Bruce Hutchins. She is survived by her children, daughter Shirah and husband Oren Barnette, son Travis Goad; two grandchildren, Dakota Goad and Ashlynn Barnette; three brothers, Steve and wife Rhonda Hutchins, Fred and wife Patty Hutchins, and Ron Hutchins; five sisters, Barbara and husband Roger Akard, Peggy and husband Tony Fink, Brenda and Roy Huffman, Dorothy and husband Eddie Jackson, Jane and husband Kevin Mullins; a very special friend and caregiver David Hall; several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the prayers and support from everyone during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held Friday (September 12, 2014) at 8 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Kingsport, Tn. for close friends and family.
