Ronnie Darrell Rasnick

May 19, 1955 — August 25, 2024

Ronnie Darrell Rasnick, age 69, of Kingsport, TN, decided his time here was done and after a lengthy illness passed away on August 25th, 2024 with his loving family by his side; leaving behind a legacy as strong and wild as he was.

He held several jobs throughout his lifetime and worked at Wal-Mart, General Shale, MiniFibers, and other various industries until he was unable to work due to health challenges. Ronnie attended Lynn View High School and later obtained his GED, which he was very proud of. He had made Kingsport his home but he cherished childhood memories spent with his family in Dante, Virginia.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Krystal Rasnick; his parents, Samuel Jackson and Anna Lee (Fields) Rasnick; one sister, Lisa Rasnick; and the mother of his daughters and his best friend, Sheila Rasnick.

In his younger days, Ronnie was a force to be reckoned with; a man who enjoyed beers, shooting pool, playing pinball, and raising hell in anything with wheels that could go fast. As the years passed, he mellowed out trading his Indiana Jones hat for a ball cap and his wild adventures for Reese's, old TV shows, and day trips. But no matter how much he tried to settle down, that wild side never fully left him.

Ronnie's life was full of stories and experiences that could fill a book, each one more legendary than the last. He was the most resilient, hard-headed man you'd ever meet; he embodied strength. Ronnie lived life on his own terms, embracing every wild adventure and challenge that came his way. With a spirit as untamed as the wind, he was known for his fearless approach to life, never backing down from a fight or a chance to make a memory. Despite the rough edges and rebellious streak, Ronnie found solace in his faith, accepting the Lord and walking a path of redemption. His journey was one of contrasts-wild and free, but grounded in a belief that guided him through his final days. In his heart, he carried a deep love for his family and friends, and though he may have lived on the edge, his faith remained his anchor. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience and a life lived fully and unapologetically.

He leaves behind a devoted family who will forever cherish his memory; his wife of 12 years, Tanya Rasnick; his daughter, Kaley Rasnick; grandson, Braxton Olterman; two sisters, Sandy (Bobby) Holman and Sherry Ray; and a brother, Jackie Rasnick. As well as many other family members and friends that Ronnie enjoyed his time with.

In accordance with Ronnie's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or gathering. The family invites you to honor his memory in your own way-he would never turn down a good party. Ronnie's family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation for your understanding and support during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Ronnie. Your spirit will live on through the stories, the memories, and the love you left behind.

Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
