Roma Irene Stewart

Roma Irene Stewart, 76, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

A native of Johnson City, Roma was born to Elijah and Ava Gore and was lovingly raised by her special aunt and uncle, Ethel and James Zannie Collins.

Roma was a member of Powerful New Life Church in Kingsport and in her lifetime she had worked in the nursery for Central Baptist Church in Johnson City, and also worked as a security officer and a crossing guard, as well as Shoney's in Johnson City.

From a young age, Roma had a deep love for her horses. Above all, she had a deep love for her family and her desire was for them to know Jesus and to be ready to go Home when called.

Roma's life was a testament to God's miracles. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but is now rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.

Preceded by her parents, Elijah Harry Gore and Ava Esteleen Hodges-Gore; her special aunt, Ethel Collins; her special uncle, James Zannie Collins; her brothers, James Gore and Rickey Gore; and her great-grandson, Kayden Saults.

Those left to cherish Roma's memory are her daughters, Sherry (Danny) Adams, and Roma (Rodney) Gambrell; her grandchildren, Jeffery (Jacqueline) Saults, Zxyan Bonds, Khyra Gambrell, Mikyah Gambrell, Jaden Gambrell; great-grandchildren, Brayden Saults, Jaylen Saults, Hayden Saults, Noriah Bonds, and Nylah Bonds; her sister, Martha (Clint) Donegan; several nieces and nephews; her sister-in-love, Debbie Gore; and her sweet friend, Bonnie.

A Homegoing service will be on Friday, February 21st, 2025 at Trinity Memorial Centers. Receiving of family and friends will be from 12:00-1:00 P.M., with a service to follow, officiated by Pastor Hugh Hale of Powerful New Life. A Graveside service at Washington County Memory Gardens at 3:00 P.M.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to some special staff at Madison House Assisted Living; Brian Middleton with Hillrom; the staff at Holston Valley D500: Darian and Sindi, and CNA Abigail; Fourth floor: Nurse David, CNA Suzanne, Paula; the respiratory therapy staff; the palliative care staff; special Nurse Mary Underwood; and her hairstylist, Tina, whom always made her feel beautiful.
