Robert W. Shackelford

Robert Shackelford, age 83, of Kingsport, TN, left his loving family to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3, 2019, with his loving family by his side at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born in Carnegie, Oklahoma and had been living in Kingsport, TN for the last 27 years. He loved to gamble. He was a retired Industrial Painter. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was the Helmsman on the USS Lexington. Robert believed in the Lord and always doing the right thing by and for the people. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Yates Shackelford and Viola Neil Shackelford; and by several siblings. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Dianna Shackelford; daughters, Holly Mitchell and husband Kelly (Jonesborough, TN), Victoria Webster (Colorado), and Dee Carter (Kingsport, TN); son, Ron Griffith and wife Lori (Kingsport, TN); grandchildren, Madalyn Darnell and Elijah Darnell; sisters, Rhonda, Kay, and Betty; and several nieces and nephews. Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Hammond Post #3, and Gate City Post #265, along with the Daniel Boone High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home.
