Richard Larry Kerney

Richard Larry Kerney, 66, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Born and raised in Kingsport, he was a graduate of Ketron High School. Richard was an avid UT Vols fan, as well as a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. Richard was married to his beloved wife, Michelle, for nearly forty-four years. They had two children, Richard Shane Kerney and Andrea Danielle Kerney; six grandchildren, Lexi Cooper (Grant) , Maci Clark, Isabella Kerney, Sophia Kerney, Libby Kerney, and Lakyn Kerney; one great-granddaughter, Knoxleigh Cooper. Richard was a devoted father and grandfather.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Kate Kerney; brothers, Tom Kerney, Steve Kerney, Ronald Kerney.

In addition to his loving family, Richard is survived by his brother, David Kerney (Susie); sisters-in-law, Denise Kerney, Tracy Kerney; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 on Monday, October 2, 2023, with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN.
