Richard "Ricky" K. Parker Jr., 45, of Kingsport, passed away 7/14/2024.

Ricky was born on August 1st, 1978 in Baltimore, Maryland. Ricky attended both Sullivan East High School and University High. Ricky was a member of the Sullivan East swim team.

After high school, Ricky had a quick adventure with joining the circus but returned home to us in Kingsport. Ricky's next career opportunity brought him to Bristol, TN where he became the manager of a Subway restaurant at the Bristol Mall. From there, Ricky went on to Cendant in Elizabethton, TN where he met many lifelong friends, including Wayne Armstrong and Tiffany Sewell-Campbell.

Ricky then moved to Knoxville, TN for 6 years.
In 2006, after the death of his mother, Ricky moved to Seattle, where he enjoyed the city that he had always loved and wanted to live in.
The call of the mountains always brought Ricky back home to Kingsport, which he returned to at the end of 2006. Ricky received his pharmacy technician certification in 2011 and worked as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens for many years.

Ricky was an avid gamer which led to him streaming on twitch playing Wizard 101 and Dead by Daylight. Ricky's other passion was music, with an eclectic taste from being a certified Swiftie to listening to Biggie. Janet Jackson is his Queen. But a few honorable mentions are Tori Amos, Britney Spears, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu. Ricky was always on the lookout for new music and when he found a new artist/music that he was passionate about, he was always eager to share his passion with everyone.

Ricky is surrounded by his loved ones and special friends including Jackie and Mary Brackett, Wayne Armstrong, Britany Henderson (Daniel), Tiffany Sewell-Campbell (Devon), Catrina Cox-Bennett (Matt), Robert Foshie Sizemore, and many others.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Holston Valley Emergency Department as well as the CCICU department for their wonderful care.

A Celebration of life will be held on August 1, 2024 at Fizzy Fairway in Kingsport from 6pm - 9pm.
