Rebecca Amy Mcdavid

November 1, 1966 — December 5, 2023

Rebecca "Amy" McDavid was called unexpectedly to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father on December 5, 2023.

Amy was born to Nova and Crawford McDavid in the mountains of Kingsport, Tennessee, on November 1, 1966.

Within these mountains of East Tennessee/Southwest Virginia, Amy lived her whole life. There is nowhere else in the world she would rather be. One of her favorite pastimes was enjoying her coffee on her porch overlooking the valley. Her favorite pastime, most of all, was riding the back roads of the mountains with her kids when they were growing up and creating memories with her grand kids during their adventures.

Amy was a resilient woman who overcame unfathomable advertises in her life that most could never imagine, but with her courageous, strong-willed spirit, Amy created a peaceful life for herself and her family.

She was a woman who wore many hats, went by many names, and accomplished anything asked of her. Out of all the names and things she did, being "Muh" and "Mee-Maw" is what she loved and cherished the most. She fiercely loved her family beyond measure. Amy's three children and five grandchildren thought she hung the moon, which was befitting because she said her family was her universe. There was never a day that went by that Amy did not tell her family how much she loved them and how proud she was of all of them.

Amy's bright smile, contagious laugh, sense of humor, giving heart, and unique outlook on life will be fiercely missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Rufus "Crawford" McDavid and the love of her life, Clark T. Stapleton.

Amy is survived by her children: daughters Cassie Carey-Parker of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Aleshia Parker (Travis) of Mount Carmel, Tennessee; son, Timothy Parker (Kristin) of Mount Carmel, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ava Boggs, Sophie Parker, Kyle Lawson, Destiny Carey-Parker, DeShawn Carey-Parker; and her granddog, Winston Atlas Parker. She is also survived by her mother, Nova McDavid of Granite Falls, North Carolina; sister, Donna Morelock (Trevor) of Rogersville, Tennessee; brothers, Tom McDavid of Granite Falls, North Carolina and Roy Calvin McDavid (JonLara) of Sawmills, North Carolina. She is also survived by her second Father, Edward "Fuzzy" Bishop (Rhonda) of Duffield, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers or monetary contributions, the family has requested that all who wish to contribute or remember Amy please sponsor a child from the Angel Tree.
