Randy Holmes

Randy Holmes, 85-years-old, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6th 2024, with his daughter by his side, at the Four Oaks Healthcare Center of Jonesborough, Tennessee.

Randy was born on February 17th, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul & LaVerne Holmes.

To have known Randy, was to know a true, faithful friend. A giver in great conversation and gab, with coffee and coffee cake always ready to be served. Randy excelled in the kitchen and thoroughly loved to cook. You never left hungry in food or fellowship from any amount of time spent in the warmth of his friendship and care.

Randy spent his childhood growing up in Chicago and cherished his time spent with family in Edgerton, Wisconsin. A real smartass who loved good banter, and a connoisseur of Lays Classic potato chips and Pepsi.

Randy served many roles on this earth, but spent a good portion of his time working at Elgin Mental Health Center as a vocational instructor, and in the latter years, Randy worked for Hancock County School System as a teachers assistant.

Throughout his lifetime, Randy faced many challenges and his fair share of hardships but always forged ahead with authenticity to be his true self with love, bravery, and kindness.

For this, he will always be greatly remembered.

He is survived by sons, Paul Sadowski with wife Joann, and Rick Sadowski with wife Tracy; daughter, Emma Holmes; grandchildren, Joseph, Jamie, Heather, Adam, Sean, and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Elika, Peyton, Tatum, Mason, Reid, Carter, and Cameron; siblings, Michael Holmes and Patrick Holmes, with wife Kathy.

Randy is continued to be survived by a host of nieces and nephews, along with close friend, Nancy Mizer, and one special four-legged companion, Odie.

Receiving of friends and family will be 12PM - 1:30PM, Saturday, December 14th, at Munsey United Methodist Church in Johnson City, with a Funeral service will be following at 1:30PM.
