Randy Duane Benton

Randy Dwayne Benton, 55, of Church Hill, TN passed away unexpectedly on June 15th, 2019. Randy was born in Hawkins County in 1964 where he lived his whole life. He attended Church Hill High School. After high school he worked farms for different people. After a few years he got into landscaping which he found he really loved doing, which he did for his whole life. His life changed on October 8, 1988 when he met the love of his life and had their first date. He really enjoyed riding horses and anything horse related. He had owned several horses in his lifetime. Recently he bought ponies for his grandsons to pass on his same passion for riding. Randy was an avid gardener, and enjoyed canning his crops to give as gifts for others to enjoy. Randy kept to himself mostly but loved his family. He was a very kind, and caring soul. He had several friends and a big family and he will be greatly missed. Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Leona B Smith; grandparents, William T. and Bessie Rice Benton; sister, Anna Lou Barnett; several aunts and uncles. He is survived by brother, James Jeareld Smith; sister, Kaye Smith Wallen and husband Hugh; partner, Margie Venters; children, Daniel Willis, Santana Adams and Jimmy Dalton; grandchildren, Braedon Willis, Carter Dalton, Zaynder Wayne Benton, Benjiman Dalton; nieces and nephews Judy Bowman, Kenny Barnertt, Jeffery Barnett, Heather Davidson Shaffer, and Joshua Davidson; lifelong friends, Gale and Keith Woods and their families. A funeral service will be held at Grassy Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Rogersville, TN from 2pm-4pm Friday, June 28th, 2019. A graveside will follow after at Benton Family Cemetery.
