Ramona "Mona" Carol Holtzclaw Ketron, 81, of Kingsport, TN, embraced the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, July 14th, 2024.

Born in Kingsport in 1943, Mona brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. A proud graduate of Lynn View High School's class of 1961, she went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from ETSU. Her passion for nurturing young minds was evident in her devoted career as a pre-k teacher, a role she cherished deeply.

Mona's life was a tapestry of love and adventure. As a Girl Scout leader, she guided and inspired many young girls. She had an adventurous spirit, which took her to Hawaii and Italy with her beloved children. Mona's love for travel saw her exploring almost every state in the continental United States, with a dream of visiting them all.

Her life was filled with music and joy. Mona was an accomplished pianist and found great pleasure in the simple joys of watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Her vibrant personality made her the life of any gathering, whether it was a family dinner or a festive holiday celebration. A dedicated Tennessee Vols fan, she cheered with all her heart.

Mona's greatest pride and joy were her family and friends. She was a loving mother, a cherished friend, and a beacon of kindness. Her warm and outgoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was the sweetheart of her community, adored by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Molly Holtzclaw (Parham); her infant son, Corbett Phillip; and her sister-in-law, Sandra Holtzclaw.

Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her son, Damon Mark Ketron, and his life partner Andrea Baird; her daughter, Tricia Maureen Ketron; her brothers, Ralph Thomas "Tommy" Holtzclaw (Ann Holtzclaw) and James Franklin "Frankie" Holtzclaw; her sister, Sonja Ann Holtzclaw; and her special friends, Scott and Emily Whitaker and their children, Alex, Abby, and Andrew.

A graveside service to celebrate Mona's life will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, July 17th, at 11:00 am.

Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family during this time.
