Ralph Lee Stapleton

August 30, 1947 — February 5, 2023

Ralph Lee Stapleton, 75, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord at his home on Sunday, February 5th, 2023 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family.
Ralph was born in Nickelsville, Va in 1947. He was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School. After graduating he quickly became a truck driver, a career he enjoyed greatly. He had the distinction of driving over 2 million miles accident-free for 40+ years. Ralph enjoyed his family and loved spending time with his grandkids who called him "Pappy." Ten years ago he gave his life to the Lord. His favorite place to eat was Pal's, he loved their chili buns and peanut butter shakes.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Stapleton; mother, Mary Depew; step-father, Paul Depew; brothers, J.W. Depew, and Don Depew; step-daughter, Leann Flanary; first wife and mother of (Marty, Jarad, and Kristie), Helen Stapleton.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 14 years, Patsy Stapleton; sons, Marty Stapleton and wife Jennifer, Jarad Stapleton and wife Lori; daughter, Kristie Salyer and husband Vince; step-son, Ben Flanary; step-daughter, Susan Hughes; grandchildren, Breanna, Dylan, Haleigh, Dustin, Caleb, Ryder, Reece, Mahayla, Matthew, Ben, Harley, Shianne; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aiden; and great-granddaughter on the way, Emerson LouAnn; several aunts and uncles; and his fur baby, Gracie.
A private graveside service will be held at Bethel Community Cemetery with Pastor Robert Fletcher and Pastor Vince Salyer officiating. Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Pallbearers will be family.
Special thanks to Avalon Hospice for the great care they provided to our family, especially nurses Isaac, and Tabitha. Also, special friends Shannon and Darlene.
