Phyllis Jone Long

Phyllis Jone Long, 75, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident. She was born in Bluff City and had graduated from Mary Hughes High School. She was a member of Charity Chapel Baptist Church. Phyllis loved to travel, antiques, the flea market and she loved to be active in the church. She loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Cheek (1984); parents, Will and Nannie Ealey; daughter, Teresa Owens (2016); sisters, May Hicks and Linda Decker; and brothers, Tom Ealey, Bud Ealey and Bill Ealey. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Long; daughters, Gloria McDonald, Gail Harris (Cordell) and Debbie Ealey; sons, Buddy Cheek and Edward Cheek; step-daughter, Vanessa Long; step-son, Jason Long; grandchildren, Ashley Cano, Angel Cano, Joseph Harris, Bradley Haris, CJ Daniels, Austin Daniels, Brittany Conner, Taylor Owens, Gary Harris and Jonathan Harris; great grandchildren, Ayden Cano, Ashton Cano, Gary Harris, Hannah Harris, Landon Harris, Brooklyn Harris, Kianalynn Harris, Polly Harris and Bella Conner; brother, David Ealey and wife, Wanda; and sister, Evelyn Crawford. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home. The service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mike Owens and Phyllis's grandson, Joseph Harris, officiating. Per Phyllis's request, she will be cremated and her cremains will be interred at Jones Cemetery in Ewing, VA at a later date. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to be serving the family of Phyllis Long.
