Peggy Nell Nave Ferrell

May 14, 1934 — February 27, 2023

Peggy Nave Ferrell passed away on February 27th, 2023 in Kingsport after a brief period of declining health. She was born in Bristol, TN to the late Bill and Mamie Nave. She resided in Kingsport for most of her life. Peggy graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School where she was active in the camera club and played saxophone in the marching band. She worked at the Kingsport Press as a Linotype operator before becoming a wife and homemaker.

Peg was active as a leader in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for over 25 years and was a whiz at wildflower identification, camping, and outdoor cooking. Later in her life, she continued to be generous with her time. She taught dulcimer classes at the senior citizens center and was active in the local dulcimer society which performed regularly at nursing homes in the area.


She was a master of many crafts including cross stitch, needlepoint, quilting, knitting, crocheting, string art, tatting lace, caning chair seats, weaving baskets, and many others. She was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her family.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Ray, and sons whom she adored, Jon Ferrell and Charlie Ferrell, and her sister Betty Miller.

Peggy Ferrell is survived by daughters Robbin (Marty) Skinner and Leslie (Gary) Latture, grandson Andrew Ciccolella (Lauren Olack), great-grandson Dominic Ciccolella, and several nieces and nephews.


A joint memorial service for Bob and Peggy will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice.
