Peggy Arnold Reed

Peggy Arnold Reed, 80, of Gate City, VA, passed away on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at Holston Valley Hospital after a brief illness. Peggy was born in Kingsport, TN in 1940. She was a graduate of Church Hill High School. She lived in the area her whole life. Peggy married her late husband, Jack, of 46 years. They were married in a barbershop in Scott County. After a few years they had a wonderful daughter and named her Jackie. Peggy loved her family life and her work life. She retired from Heritage Federal Bank after a long and successful career. After her retirement she helped her husband part time at Mt Carmel Elementary School as a custodian. They enjoyed working together and being around the children. Peggy was caring and loving person. She really enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren. They would play games and puzzles. It was the delight of her heart to watch them anytime she could. She was full of life, energetic, and fun to be around. We will greatly miss her and she will be always in our hearts. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Reed; brother, Charles "Junior"; sister-in-law, Joann Arnold; parents, Charles and Hattie Arnold. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie and husband Roy Richardson; grand daughter, Amanda Estep and boyfriend Dewayne Hurst; great grandchildren, Sarah, Shane, Ruby, and JJ; sister, Janice and husband Claude "Pedro" Davis; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held on Thursday June 3rd at 1:00pm at Church Hill Memory Gardens with Pastor Regina Shelton. Pallbearers will be Roy Richardson, Dewayne Hurst, Tim Barlow, Bobby Richardson, Brian Hickman, and Robert Sands. There will be a receiving of friends this week at the sisters home, 2116 Sharron Road, Kingsport, Tn. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the Reed family.
