Paul M. "Spike" Jones of Blountville, Tennessee passed away at his residence on Thursday, September 9, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. "Monk" Jones Jr. and Hattie Sue Lambert Jones. He was born in Bristol, Virginia on December 27, 1951. He lived on Windsor Avenue in Bristol, Tennessee until 1953 when his family moved to the family farm near Blountville. Spike farmed and raised livestock for most of his adult years. Spike is survived by his loving companion and caregiver, Linda Whitlock; son, Marty Jones of Blountville. Also surviving Spike is his brothers, James "Butch" Jones and wife Joyce of Blountville and David C. Jones and wife Pat of Huntsville, Alabama along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Spike had several good farming buddies and a very special friend Jack Woodard who was a regular visitor for Spike. Linda's son Carl Whitlock, Piney Flats, Tennessee was always willing to help Spike out with chores around the farm. Spike's dogs gave him so much pleasure. One dog in particular, PJ, was his constant companion and was always by his side. When Spike was riding his four wheeler checking fence you could see old PJ riding behind him. He was active in the formation of local Farmer's Markets. It would be his wish that you would honor his memory by supporting the local Farmers Markets, particularly Blountville and Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church Farmers Markets. There will be no public service for Spike as he requested. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the Jones family.
