Patty Ann Lawson, 48, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2014 at her residence. Patty was born December 28, 1965, in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Patton Phillips and the late June Ann Frost. During her lifetime, Patty worked in several different jobs, but was known to all around her as a very caring and giving person. She loved working with children and, at one point, worked as a van driver for disabled children in the local area. She also worked at the Crossing golf course and in several different food service positions. Patty was a very proud mother and her family were most important to her. She was known as a "free spirit" and always had a smile on her face. She was of the Christian faith. In addition to her mother, June Ann Frost, Patty is preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Frost and grandparents, Willie Lee and Maudie Frost, and Mayfield and Mazel Phillips. Survivors of Patty Ann Lawson include her husband, James "Rocky" Lawson ; her daughter, Rachel Lawson; step-son, Robert Frost; father, Pat Phillips; sister, Sandra Frost; brother, Terry Frost and Renee Frost; several special aunts and uncles including, Sue Crawford, David and Teresa Frost, Bill and Susie Frost; and several special nieces, nephews, cousins, additional family members and friends. The family of Patty Ann Lawson will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Trinity Memorial Centers (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN). A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
