Parrish H. "Tiny" Williams, 52, of Kingsport, TN, went gently into that fair night on Tuesday, December 31st, 2019. Parish moved to the area from Detroit several years ago. We don't know his past there but we know the impact he made on the Downtown Kingsport Community. Parish was 6 foot 7 inches and it was hard to miss him walking into the room. He had a glow about him and a deep calm. He knew what to say to make you feel special and was a genuine caring soul. When asking folks to describe Parish in a few words, here is what most said "Optimistic, All Smiles, Healer of the Heart, Good Listener, Passionate Cook, Hugs and Love, and Servant of the Lord." Once when Shades of Grace UMC was just forming he came to visit the community cookout we had in a public parking area at 5 points. He saw the homeless and lost being fed. He quietly went back to his apartment and came back with a big bowl of food. He said he had made himself lunch but he wanted to share his food with everyone so they could all have something good to eat. Thoughtful and caring, always putting others first, friend to many and helper of the homeless, and crusader for Christ. Perfect? No, he struggled with many issues some that he never really expressed except his really close friends. We will remember you for the time you gave us, teaching us to live life for the moment, and to never take today for granted. He always gave thanks to God for letting him live another day. Parish is now, no doubt, cooking in Heaven's big kitchen serving his Savior. Celebration of his Life will be held at Shades of Grace UMC on Wednesday January 8th at 2:00pm with Pastor Will Shewey officiating. Friends are invited to come at 1pm to have a visitation and share fond memories. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family.
