Owen Keith Wells, 68, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, after a brief hospitalization in Nashville, Tennessee.
Owen was born and raised in Sullivan County, Tennessee, and spent his whole life in the area. He served in the US Army in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam era. Owen enjoyed time on the water with his family, friends, and cigars. He was an avid fisherman. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he always had his dogs by his side.
Owen is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mildred Wells; best friend, Bobby Cole.
He is survived by his children, Misty (Brian) Stair, Brian Wells, Justin (Amanda) Wells, Matthew (Sandi) Wells; grandchildren, Megan Overbay, Harley (Morgan) Stair, Paxton Wells, Roan Wells, Brilea Wells, Blaiklea Wells; great-grandchildren, Chase Cave, Olivia Stair, Wyatt Franklin; sisters, Teresa (Charles) Wells, Angie (Robert) Simmons, Sheri Wells Maloney, Kathy Wells; multiple nieces and nephews.
Owens wishes were to be cremated and to have his remains scattered at his favorite fishing cove at Boone Lake.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 4 to 6 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, Tennessee.
