Ora Taft Cardwell Jr “Pops” 70, of Johnson City, TN was called home and gained peace on November 10, 2021. He was a Born-Again Christian and knew the power of prayer. His faith carried him through many hardships and trails he faced in life, including the unbeatable Cancer. Jr was an advocate for the less fortunate; especially children, elderly, and the homeless. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and Navy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ora Taft Sr. and Mabel Hillard Cardwell; daughter, Heather Cardwell; sisters, Lucy Lane, Opal Bridges, and Mary Charlotte Riseden; brothers, Doyle Cardwell, and Russell Strand (his Best Friend); Many loved ones and special friends have gone before him He is survived by daughter, Ida Cardwell; granddaughters, Macie, Kaitlyn, and Savannah Cardwell; great-grand-daughters, Heaven, and Dawn Elizabeth; mother of his daughters, Rita Tatum brothers, Don (Becky), Clayton (Eileen), Charles (Karen), and Joseph Hillard; sisters, Almae (Sylvester), Jo Anne Keith, Billie Viles, and Bobbie Strand; many other loved ones and special friends A Military Honor Service will be held November 24, 2021, 11AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Chaplin Adam Paige. A Special THANK YOU to caregivers; Tracy Kellerman and nephew, Jason Riseden.
