Norman Gillenwater

Norman Gillenwater, 70, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Norman was born to Caldwell and Lily Gillenwater in Scott County, Virginia. He spent most of his life in Kingsport, Tennessee., where he raised his son, Norman, and three daughters, Michelle, Tammy, and Misty. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Norman worked as a roofer, but his passion was fishing. He was a dedicated Christian, and member of Apostolic Revival Center of Gate City.

In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda and Elizabeth; brothers, Homer, L.C., Carroll, Bill; loving son-in-law, John Dugger; grandson, Christopher Harvey.

Those left to cherish Norman's memory include his loving wife, Donna Gillenwater; son, Norman Ray Gillenwater; daughters, Michelle King, Tammy Stanley (David), Misty Pleasant (Aaron); Gary Harvey (Kelli), Jerry Harvey (Angela), Travis Harvey; grandchildren, Chad, Kevin, Tayla, Aubrey (Christopher), Shadrick, Jalyn, Desirae, Blake, Bryson, Porsha, Kyron, Gracelyn, Corinthian, Mia, Noah, Logan, Hayley, Sophia; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Dixon (Leonard), Shelby Thacker (Charlie);Peggy Bailey, Nellie Hudson (Tommy), Joanne France (Jason); brothers, Fred Gillenwater, J.C. Gillenwater (Jewell)

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Apostolic Revival Center, 2132 Nickelsville Highway, Gate City, Virginia, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mark Sexton officiating. A graveside committal will be held at 3:00 PM at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 800 Truxton Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee. Norman's grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
