Norma Taylor Moore, 87, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Kingsport after a brief illness. She was born in Greene County, TN on November 29, 1930. Except for a few years in Corpus Christi, TX, she spent most of her life in the Kingsport area. Norma was a pioneer in many ways. She loved animals, especially dogs, and was a strong advocate for them when she thought their owners were mistreating them. She raised two young children by herself and worked her way up to be a manager of AAA of East Tenn. Travel Agency. As part of that job, she traveled extensively and even gave the weather report a few times on local television. She loved to walk on the Green Belt, talking on the phone with old friends, going to yard sales with her daughter, and traveling with her husband. Norma was a dedicated member of St. Dominic Church and often attended mass with her son. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and was truly one of a kind. Her spunk was appreciated by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Cody Brandon, of Fall Branch. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Louis Moore; two children, Sandra Taylor and Mark Taylor, of Kingsport; two stepdaughters, Anne Moore Rhome (husband Bob) of Springfield, VA and Lou Moore Knight (husband Mickey) of Canton, GA; two granddaughters, Brandi McAninch, of Nashville, and Jennifer Kindle, of Kingsport; and one great granddaughter. A private memorial was held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Dominic Church in Kingsport. Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to be serving the family of Norma Moore.
