Nancy Karen Winegar

Nancy Karen Winegar, 74, of Gray, TN, went to join her husband and the Good Lord on Monday, January 6th, 2020 with her family by her side.

Nancy was born in Kingsport, TN where she spent most of her life. She was a graduate of Ketron High School. She became a waitress / bartender at the Eagle’s Lodge where she met her husband. They were blissfully wed for 49 years until his passing in 2019. They had one daughter, Kristin, whom they loved and one grand daughter whom they cherished and was her mamaw’s best friend, Bri.

She loved the Vols and the Braves and attended many games in Atlanta. She also loved animals. Nancy enjoyed entertaining her daughters friends and grand daughters friends over the years. She was an overall mamaw to them all.

Nancy was loved by many and gave all of her love to those she met. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband and soulmate of 49 years, Lawrence Alvin Winegar Jr; parents, Wilbert and Hazel Watkins; and her brother, Wilbert Allen Watkins Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kristin Winegar and husband Gary Tester; grand children, Brionah Tester and Lucas Tester; nephews, Allen Watkins Jr., Chris (Jeannie) Pendleton, Jon (Amanda) Pendleton, Josh (Haley) Pendleton; nieces, Sherri (Rod) Monroe and Patricia (Mark) Gibbons; several great nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-laws, Teresa (Keith) Pendleton, Janice (Bill) Matlock; special people dear to her, Smokey and Danielle; and her furbaby Peppy.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Trinity Memorial on January 13th from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral will follow at 7pm with Pastor Kasey Lawson officiating.

Graveside service will be held on January 14th at 1:00pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Pendleton, John Pendleton, Josh Pendleton, Smokey Dorrell, Jed Lewis, and Gary Tester.
