Nancy Jewell Maness

Nancy Jewell Maness, 75, of Church Hill, TN, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Nancy was born February 22nd, 1949; and was raised in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She spent much of her adult life in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was a cosmetologist for more than 30 years. Nancy was witty and a bit of a spitfire. She remained faithful in her faith until the end. Nancy loved working in the Kingdom Ministry. She loved her pets, Sassy, Toby, and Gertrude. Nancy kept a smile on her face, even when faced with illness and pain.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father, Sheriff Jess Maness of Big Stone Gap; her mother, Inez Cain Maness also of Big Stone Gap; her brother, Edward Maness of Dayton, Ohio; her "Special Aunt", Viola Moore from Pennington Gap, Virginia; and her baby daughter, stillborn, Wendy Lynn Byrd.

She is survived by daughter, Monica Craft Fortner and husband Blaine Fortner; grandson, Jessee (Tiffany) Noe; grandaughters, Ashley Blackburn and Angie (Patrick) Harris; and great grandchildren, Sierra, Lexi, Derrion, Kierra, Jacob, and Aryan (Noe), Jayden, Caydrian, Arieth, and Abel (Harris), and Ariyanna (Fischer-Blackburn).

A memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 pm on Monday, April 15th, 2024 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Rogersville, 104 Regency Drive, Rogersville, Tennessee.

Nancy would want to say a special thank you to Blaine, Tiffany, Angel, her Sister in Faith Melinda, and especially her daugher Monica who loved and cared for her during her last 10 years.
