Nancy Carol Pendergrass

Nancy Carol Pendergrass, 83, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 after a brief illness.

Nancy was the oldest of nine children born to Randolph and Elizabeth Sexton in Wise County, Virginia. Nancy moved to Kingsport at an early age where she met and married John Clifford Pendergrass. The couple lived in Florida for several years and they had four children, Ed, Jim, Danny, and David. Nancy was a beautiful woman with a warm caring heart. She was strong in her faith. Nancy was a homemaker most of her life. She loved and was very devoted to her family. She knew what was important and enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Nancy was deeply loved and cherished by her family. She will forever be missed.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, John Clifford Pendergrass; sons, James Pendergrass, Arthur "Danny" Pendergrass; brothers, David Harold Sexton, Allen Sexton, Cecil Sexton, Roger Sexton; sisters, Linda Hall, Judy McCoy, Joyce Cavin

Those left to cherish Nancy's memory include her sons, Edward Pendergrass, David Pendergrass; grandchildren, Jason Pendergrass, Erica Barlow (Josh), Ashley Bumgarner (Matt), Tyler Pendergrass; great-grandchildren, Haylie Pendergrass, Connor Pendergrass, Austin Pendergrass, Brooke Pendergrass, Landon Pendergrass, Teagan Barbour; sister, Cathy Stallard; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN. A funeral service will follow at 8 PM. Gaveside interment will be conducted at 10 AM on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Gunnings Cemetery, 4851 TN-126, Blountville, TN, 37616
