Polly Ann (Kelly) Carter, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday (May 29, 2015). Polly was born in Lee Co. NC, near the city of Sanford on January 25, 1936. Polly accepted Christ as her Savior at Baptist Chapel in Broadway, NC. as a child. After spending her first 22 years in North Carolina, she lived the remainder of her life in the Kingsport, TN area. Polly retired from the Sullivan County Board of Education after 23 years of service. She enjoyed her lovely yard and flowers, she was a wonderful cook and hostess. Polly enjoyed helping others, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Roland Kelly; mother, Clara Howard Kelly; beloved sisters, Louise Miriam, Betty, Ruth, and Mary Lynn; brothers, Nello, Wilbur, and Homer "Skip"; She leaves to cherish her memory, sons Trent and Mike; daughter Lisa; two sisters, Carolyn, and Ida; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. The family will greet guests and share memories on Monday (June 1, 2015) from noon until 1:30 pm at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home with the funeral service following. Interment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105).
