Ms. Gathel Beatrice Monk

Gathel Beatrice "Ms. Bea" Monk, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday (May 7, 2015) at her residence with her family by her side. Ms. Bea was an employee of The Salvation Army for 18 years. She will be remembered for her kind heart and always giving to others. She enjoyed NASCAR racing (Dale, Jr.), watching old western movies (John Wayne), game shows, collecting angels, bears and gardening. She will be sorely missed by all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Elsie Monroe; two husbands, Roy Lane & Robert Monk; grandson, Rusty Moore; and brother-in-law, Ralph King. She is survived by her children, Jeff & Bobby Monk, Donna Hickman, and Brenda Moore; two step-daughters, Teresa & Debbie; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Alma King; special caregiver, Cheryl Crain; several nieces and nephews, & a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Monday (May 11, 2015) from 5 to 7 pm at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Steven Terry and Rev. Billy Pearson officiating.
